Short Tongs
Couldn't get more basic than these spring-loaded tongs
I use these industrial strength, short-handled tongs for so many tasks I can’t begin to list them. Mine don’t have a locking mechanism, or any heat guards. They’re very plain but very useful. I like a strong spring — no anemic bounce, please. I turn chops in the pan, food on the grill, vegetables roasting in the oven, warming bread. They are an extension of my hands. Strong ones like these will turn a whole pot roast or a rack of ribs. The bowl part of the tongs works like a spoon for marinading or for basting, but just make sure hot liquid doesn’t roll up the tongs onto your hand.
Tongs are my muse, my grabby-hand.
